Saturday Is For Art: Sonoma Landscape 2008

This landscape was painted from a photograph taken in Sonoma, CA in August, 2008. It is painted in acrylics on plywood and I am not sure I want to mess with it anymore, so, it might be finished. I haven't put up any artwork in a while so I don't think this piece has ever appeared before. The painting can be seen as just a landscape with mickey and a flag, or, if you care to read something into it, you are free to do so.

I hear Sonoma and think raceway. I see the road in front of Mickey and think raceway and I believe he is waiting for the road racers to go by. Or I can hear and add Valley and think of wine. Mickey's waiting for the truck loaded with freshly picked grapes headed to the distillery.

You asked, shame on you ;)

Fred, I really like this painting. I especially like the way it can be read as a quirky landscape or something more. Cheers,
