Level Playing Field, Level Playing Field No. 2 & 3

The 3 paintings I will post for today are related to each other. Level Playing Field is the title of these 3 paintings. Some other time I will discuss the term "level playing field", and how it has been used in political discussions. The first painting is oil on board. The second and third is oil on wood, actually 2 wine box lids. I hope you will find them interesting and be willing to share your thoughts and comments. Saturday is a good day for art.

Hey Moneythoughts,

Thanks for checking my new blog out-glad to hear you approve-it has been tons of fun! I love your paintings! While you may find it hard to believe since my blog is written in a "bimbo" sort of text I do find your thoughts interesting. I will check back. Have a nice weekend.

Hi There!

WetPaintRuns here. (the non-sleeper) Your blog is interesting. Ever read "The Long Emergency" by Kunstler? Talks about the breakdown of society after the oil runs out. Decentralization and along with it restriction of supply, localization of jobs, and overall, a fairly bleak picture, but a brilliant and interesting text. Not entirely without hope- which is important.

The immediate state the US is in today was so completely forseeable. I'm no finanacial whiz, but I remember several years ago talking with my husband about how the ARMs ran counter to common sense, and it was like a time-bomb waiting to exlode. And why, oh why, was the gov offering incentives on gas guzzlers? If any normal person could see it, then why...?

Level Playing Field- really like number one-seeing the edge of the flag adds a nice element. The one with the fences is metaphorically intriguing.

I put up some of my paintings on WetPaintRuns; mine are less political and more emotionally symbolic. Hope you stop by again!

Hi Fred

Thanks for the kind words.
I find your blog very interesting. Seems the oil crisis is a real problem worldwide. Even here in the most southern point of Africa, South Africa. Our fuel prise is rising to R8.50 ($1.20 approx) next week. Difficult to compare but here it is becoming a real issue especially affecting low income people who relies on public transport. Hope there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Regards
Dids

I like the retro-propoganda-poster feel to your work. Thanks for coming by my blog.

Your posts do raise one's ire. It's always everyday nobodies that hafta clean up the messes of our noble statemen and captains of industry.

Hi,

I have been asked to discuss the concept of the "Level Playing Field." I will take this up in the not too distant future.

More to follow.
