Sunday Is For Sunflowers & The Bengals

Well, I am still peddling my sunflower prints. Robert suggested that I need a big name to sell my art, that what I paint is not important. Well, anyone who has any ideas how I can get a big name, please pass it along to me. Thank you.

The 4-1 Bengals could not sell out for this afternoon's game at Paul Brown Stadium, so, there will be no TV of the game for the locals. Anyone interested in seeing the game can probably find some decent tickets for sale on the street near the stadium. The fans in Cincinnati are hurting from the economy and also from the fact that they don't like the owners. I wish the Bengals success today against the Houston Texans, and hope they can make it 5-1. That would be a good start for the 2009 season. Go Bengals!!!

Wow, our always very excited sports guy on one of the local channels said they were sold out. He told how Cinco and one or two other businesses of individuals bought a bunch of tickets and were going to hand them out free. I'm watching it here, 3:23 left in the 2nd qtr. and the score is 14 to 7 Houston.

Advantage of being in Dayton once in awhile.

Maybe it's a bit cynical, but name seems to be the big deal in the art market. Also in other businesses, but maybe to a somewhat lesser degree. The subject should matter more, but that's one of the failings of relying on the market in totality.

On another somewhat related note this interesting article appeared in Today's Bellingham Herald (from McClatchy national wire) about the credit rating agencies. You've been sounding the alarm for a while now. Others are beginning to take notice for various reasons. They sure play a role in the economic mess.

Thanks for the article Robert. Everyone in Congress should read it. Several people should be tried, but in my opinion no one will see the inside of a cell. The sad thing is that with no changes in the present system, we are headed back down the same road. The economic recovery depends on credit being given and the present credit rating system will keep the economic recovery from coming along as fast as it could. Everyone should read THE MATCH KING, It is a great book to read.
