I had a talk with Van Gogh and a few other dead artists a few nights ago. No, they didn't talk to me in a conversation, but rather through their paintings. At the end, I concluded that as much as I want my paintings to have a contemporary look (appearance) to them, that the way I am hard wired would in the end win out. I can try to change, but I don't know how successful I will be. I guess the important thing is: have fun and enjoy painting, and second, it will be what it is. Some will like my paintings and some will not, and that is that.
I will post pics where I am in the process, and then when the pieces are finished. Katherine says that the viewer completes the work by the act of viewing the painting. We shall see.
